Valerio Vaiarelli is a London-based composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and educator.
A well-rounded musician, he has released four studio albums. Energetic and meditative, his songs combine tastefully elements of blues, rock, reggae, and funk. A refined blend of classical and jazz music, his instrumental piano compositions hint at impressionism and modernism.
A charismatic frontman as well as an accomplished sideman, Valerio has consistently performed as a pianist and bass guitar player with a huge variety of ensembles since 1995.
A graduate of University of West London (popular music performance) and Conservatoire of Music Vincenzo Bellini (classical music performance), he has been a committed music tutor and supporter of several youth music associations for over 25 years.

A solo piano album inspired by nocturnal and lunar atmospheres, La Nuit et la Lune includes twenty original pieces and explores a variety of music genres and textures disclosing the wide expressive power of the piano. Valerio is a great piano teacher. He has a passion for music that is truly infectious. He is great at explaining complex musical theory while also keeping the lessons and the music fun.

Valerio is a brilliant teacher. I’d not touched my bass in almost 15 years, and he immediately inspired me with his incredible passion for the instrument and his ambition for what I can achieve.

Valerio is the most passionate and least judgemental teacher I’ve ever had, and it’s through my regular sessions with him that I’ve discovered how creative I am. He can create a lesson out of any tune and finds ways into diverse genres, expanding your musical knowledge and appreciation.

Valerio is one of the most methodical music teachers I’ve come across despite having gone through higher music education from BMus Bachelor degree to Mmus Masters degree. A proficient sight-reader as well as a confident improviser, he can accompany instrumentalists and vocalists of any age and level. A meticulous timekeeper with a keen eye for academic detail, he has much experience of working under pressure and to a tight deadline.
